Christmas Decorating

This year is going to be difficult because Reese is into everything! This year we bought a pre-lit tree from walmart so that was alot easier and we dont have to worry about the evil pine needles!! Reese loves the tree and we bought her a special tinkerbell ornament but it doesn't stay on the tray very long. So I am thinking about not decorating it any further because I will be finding ornaments in the house until next Christmas. My sister will be here in two weeks and we only have 3 weeks until Christmas! Yikes! I am done with my shopping but Jeremy and I need to plan something for our anniversary. I have to see when he gets time off for work too.

Thanksgiving Break

It is really nice working for a school because I get all of the school holidays off!! It sucks when you don't get the paycheck which will be missed in two weeks but it is nice to have some time off when you are pregnant and have a two year chasing you around. Jeremy found out a few weeks ago he had 32 hrs of vacation time he didn't realize he had left and he has to use it by the end of the year or he loses it so he is taking tomorrow and Thanksgiving off. I am so happy he is going to be able to spend the holiday at home and we don't have to rush and eat dinner and rush him off to work. We can relax as a family and have Thanksgiving together and start setting up for Christmas. Everything has been ok around here, I have had some contractions which aren't good but they are just because of stress and doing to much but I am beginning to learn how much I can really handle and how much I can't. Jeremy broke the tip of his finger the other day when our window got stuck and he tried to shut it and of course when he exerts the most force his finger gets in the way and slam! Hurt finger. Jeremy's physical therapy is working well so far so it looks like we don't have to get surgery. YEAH! We are going to get family photos taken tomorrow so hopefully I will have some previews to post.

Brodie

Yesterday we had a Dr. Appt. Everything is going well. I am measuring big but no surprise there, I measured big with Reese and ended up having her 2 weeks early. Apparently there is a new state law that was passed 6 months ago saying the wont schedule C-sections any early than 39 wks. So the earliest I can have my C-section is Jan. 30. Even though my ultrasound puts my due date on Jan 31. I have a feeling he is not going to wait until Jan 30. I hope he does because I really want my mommy to be here. She wasn't able to be there last time because Reese was early. So hopefully he cooks as long as possible. We are officially scheduling the C-section on my next appointment Dec 12. It is getting so close!! I can't believe we are only 10 wks (or earlier) away!! There is so much to do and still prepare for and of course the holidays! Jeremy thinks its going to be funny is he comes on Christmas which is to early but he laughed saying we would have a Halloween and then one on Christmas! Yikes! We don't need anything else to celebrate in December. We have my bday, Christmas and our anniversary all with a week. So no need to throw in another bday! 10 weeks and counting, lets hope I can get everything done!

Allison

My little sister Allison is coming to stay with us for Christmas! Yeah! We got a killer deal with Southwest and she is staying with us December 14- January 5. I am so happy that we won't be totally alone on the holidays. I am so excited for her to get here! And a bonus we have a built in babysitter for our 5 year anniversary! We are going to have to think of really fun things to do while she is out here. Any ideas? I gotta hook her up with a return missionary too....so much to do so little time ;)

Physical Therapy

Jeremy started physical therapy on his ankles today. He called me once and they where doing shock therapy! YIKES! We are hoping the this works for Jeremy's ankles and strengthens them so he doesn't have to have surgery. The physical therapist is optimistic. So hopefully in about a month Jeremy's ankles will be better. He is at a new facility that doesn't have all the braces in stock so we had to go buy Jeremy ankle braces and they are $70 bucks!! Holy smokes! But at least he is out of his boot, he hated that boot and it hurt him so I am glad he doesn't have to wear it anymore. Hopefully Jeremy will be able to start flying again with the smaller braces, we have a lot of flying to catch up on.

Update

I guess I should update this blog more than I do. Our car started working again the moment we took it to the shop, of course. In the process we found out a lot of work we need to put into our car to prevent future problems. I guess the car not starting is a blessing because now we will be replacing the parts in our car and *hopefully* we wont have any problems with the car. Especially not in the winter with a newborn and a toddler. Jeremy will be finished with his semester in the next few weeks and then we will only have 4 semesters more to go! YEAH! I am just working and getting ready for the holidays. I love this time of the year but it will be really different this year because we are going to be all alone. We don't have any family here and aren't going to be able to go home because I will be to far along and cost. So it will be sad not going to all of our families houses. As busy as it is when we go home and we are running to everyones houses and trying to see everyone we love it because it keeps us busy and we get to visit with everyone. This year we will be entertaining ourselves and its so sad because Reese is so excited with Christmas this year. She loves all the "pretty" decorations. Hopefully before Thanksgiving we can get an electrician out here to fix our power in our kitchen that has gone out AGAIN!! Jeremy has tried everything so I think its time to hire a professional. I don't know why but I know that the power of the Lord is blessing me and keeping me positive this year. Our car makes me nervous, our electricity needs to be fixed and its a lonely holidays but I know it is all going to work out. I know I will be sad and probaly have a very emotional holiday but I know the Lord is watching me and giving me a positive attitude and that our lives are going ok. We just need to keep on keeping on and stick to our plans. I love the Lord and how he blesses out lives and the lives of our families.

Blessings

Things have been tight around here lately. I haven't been in the nicest of all moods some days being pregnant and feeling so strapped and wanting so much more for my family. I know the day will come when we aren't in school and don't have debt but it is so hard sometimes to look on the happier side. Today I was reading another blog and this lady was commenting on how she was at Walmart at midnight and her checker was a 70 year old man with shaking hands and his shift was just starting. It broke my heart even thinking about that little old man. It makes me think how truly blessed I am and how much Heavenly Father looks after our family. I am grateful for every blessing I have been given. It just made me think I need to stop being negative nelly and be happy that even though Jeremy's job doesn't appreciate him, at least he has a job and we are in school making something for our future and as much as I don't like working I have a job I can bring Reese to if I need to and its very flexible and really is a blessing in my life. I think we all need to be a little more positive and realize our blessings and help those who truly are in need.

Our Next President

I dont want to get all political on anyone but this one REALLY pissed me off. I don't understand this what so ever. I read on another blog, not a blog connected to mine (thankfully) once again this is this persons thoughts NOT mine. This person said...should we call it the "half black house" now? Are you freaking kidding me!! I like Barack Obama. I don't believe in everything he says or plans, keyword plans on doing but he is going to be our next president like it or not. I don't think we like everything from any candidate. Don't make yourself look stupid and talk down about a man because of his race. It just shows ignorance in your part I think. Sorry this just got my blood pumping and made me angry that people can be so...I don't even think I have a word for it. *sigh*

Bread Bowls

Today was a stormy rainy day so I decided to make broccoli cheddar soup and since we didn't have any bread bowls I decided to try to make them homemade. I know some of you are super awesome and this is no big deal for you but I was so excited to make them and see how they came out. They where so easy to make and we delicious! I felt like a little super mommy in the kitchen tonight whipping up homemade bread bowls for my family. I got the recipe of Cathy Twitchell's blog, I am going to post it here as well so I always have it and so those of you who don't read her blog can have the recipe too. Thanks Cathy for posting it! It was delicious! I was going to post pictures of me ever so proud with my bread bowls but my camera battery was dead.

French Bread Soup Bowls

Ingredients:
2 ½ cups warm water
3 tablespoons sugar
2 packages dry active yeast
1 tablespoon salt
5 tablespoons oil
6 cups all-purpose flour

Method:
Preheat Oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl or the bowl of an electric bread mixer, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and stir. Wait 10 minutes until yeast mixture is frothy. Add salt, oil, and half of the flour. Beat well in mixer or with a wooden spoon. Add remaining flour and mix well until a soft dough forms. You may need to add a little more flour. You don't want the dough to be very sticky. Turn dough out onto floured board and knead 2 or 3 times to coat with flour. Divide into 8 to 10 equal parts, depending on size of bowls desired. Form into large balls and place in small foil pans (small pot pie pans work well). Allow dough bowls to rise for 45 minutes or until the bowls are the size you want. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from pans. Cut off tops and hollow out insides. Serve with soup.
Makes 8 to 10 bowls.

Halloween

So everyone knows already Reese's birthday was on Halloween. When she woke up, she was surprised with balloons and a pumpkin pancake with a chocolate chip face, YUMMY! She loved it! Then she hung out with her daddy and watched the Tinkerbell movie for the 10th time. By the way if you have a little girl the new Tinkerbell movie is great! Reese absolutely loves it! We went out to lunch at Red Robin because she got a free birthday meal and walked around the mall doing a little early trick or treating. Jeremy then had to go to work for a little bit. We put Reese down for a nap and her and I went for a little bit of early trick or treating around the complex and then went to our wards trunk or treat with Jeremy. We had a lot of fun driving around seeing the spooky houses. Reese loves spooky decorations. I think its really cute she doesn't get scared. I guess thats why she truly is a Halloween baby.
