Update on Brodie

Brodie is still in the NICU and will be in there until probaly at least until Monday. He needs to get his breathing under control, he is still breathing way to fast and after he gets his breathing under control he has to nurse and gain weight before he comes home. He is such a sweet baby that never really cries. I love him so much and hope he comes home soon. Please just keep him in your prayers that he will heal up quickly and we will be able to get our sweet baby home.

More Pictures

Well Brodie has a small hole in his left lung and is going to be in NICU for a little bit and he is so chunky and meaty they are having a hard time keeping the IV in. Here are some more pictures of our beautiful boy.

Brodie is here!!!

Brodie was born at 1:23 am on January 29th. He weighed 8 lbs 10.8 oz 20 inches long. He is a cute little man. After much thought and prayers I opted to try for a VBAC. It was a very scary choice because of the chance of rupture. I thought it would be a lot easier...lol that crap was painful. I had an epidural and everything but I took forever to progress. We checked into the hospital at 3ish and I was at a 3 cm dilation. At 5 i was only at a 4-5 cm and was not progressing very fast which lasted until about 10 pm. Then the Dr ordered pictocin, which was very scary for me because I knew it made my contractions harder which puts you at a higher chance of rupturing. Once they gave me that I could feel the crap out of my contractions. I had some more drugs given to me but I kept feeling pressure. The dr. then told me you will feel the pressure there is really nothing we can do for the pressure. OUCH! That is all I have to say about that! I quickly progressed to an 8, then 9.5 then FINALLY the big 10! I was ready to push, since this was my first vaginally birth the nurses said I would have to push for 1-2 hours....yeah right ladies I am getting this baby out because it HURTS! Well after 30 minutes of pushing with my great husband/coach cheering me on, we had Brodie. It was the most beautiful and fulfilling thing I have every done. We are so happy that he is here on the same end the delivery went great Brodie swallowed some menchonium (sorry i can't spell it) basically black tar poop when you are first born and his cord was around his neck for a little bit. So he has a C-pap mask on right now and they are working on his lungs because he is having issues regulating his breathing and they are also checking for infections and he has been transferred to Nursery level 2 just like Reese was. Well I finally got my vaginally delivery which is soooo much nicer right after that I can get up and walk and what not but I don't have my baby boy with me. We are just saying prayers that everything will be ok just like Reese was. Sorry to bore you with such a long story but Jeremy is asleep and I just have a million thoughts in my head. Here are some pictures of our baby boy....he has big lips ready for me to kiss on and big feet, such a beautiful little boy.

We're at the hospital

We're at the hospital... Tara has had her epidural and we are just waiting for Brodie to make his grand entrance. (taking his sweet time)

This morning Tara woke up with contractions at 5:30 am. I was so excited that I got and just was waiting on her to tell me, "let's go". We are very happy that the wait is almost over and that we will have our sweet baby boy.
As you can see Tara's had her epidural and it has kicked in.

Kidney Stones

Kidney stones are awful. There is no way to describe them. They are so painful in every way. We have a Doctors appointment on Wednesday and we are going to try and convince the Dr to have the c section on Friday. Hopefully we will be successful. Everyone keep us in your prayers that we will be able to deliver on Friday. My mom and Parker are coming out on Friday and Jeremy's parents should be in Utah on Monday night. So hopefully the next time I update we will have a little boy.

Ouch

My back is KILLING me!! I went to the Dr. on Monday and I have a really bad urinary tract infection, I have never had one before and my back is killing me! They think because of my back pain and how bad the infection is that I might have kidney stones...great. They wanted to do a CT scan but I don't really feel comfortable doing that being pregnant but I also don't like taking the pain medicine all the time either. So hopefully the antibiotic clears everything up and there aren't kidney stones and the pain stops. 12 days to go...in less than two weeks!!

I am still Pregnant

I am going to go crazy!! I am still pregnant! Brodie has decided that it is to cold and he is not coming out! LOL! We only have like 14 days until he comes here via a scheduled C-section. Which isn't that long but does he have to torture me with spasming ligaments in the process? Basically it feels like back labor but is not labor just pain. I have another appointment this week, I guess we we will see if there is any progression. I doubt it. No I have to get on cleaning my house, I am getting a little neurotic about it being sparkling before he gets here, it won't be perfect but I wonder how to convince Jeremy to clean the tub....humm. Well there is our little update. No baby, still pregnant. 14 days to go.

Snowboarding

Jeremy and Allison went snowboarding at the Sundance Resort for the first time this past Saturday and had a lot of fun. I was sad I wasn't able to go but they don't like pregnant women falling down the mountain. Reese and I had a mommy and daughter day cleaning house and playing. I loved actually just getting one on one time with her all day. We had fun. Jeremy and Allison came home cold and sore but still had a lot of fun.

Reese in her Bama Dress

My mom bought Reese a bunch of Amanda Remembered dresses (very southern smocked dresses) for Christmas and I absolutely love them! One of the dresses she bought was an Alabama one, Brodie actually has a little matching boy version that is so CUTE! Once he can fit it we are going to get pictures taken of them matching! :) My mommy wanted to see pictures of Reese in her dress, so here they are. Reese has loved having her Auntie Allison visit and is probaly going to be very sad when she leaves tomorrow...
